Data and Communications Assistant 
The Council for European Studies (CES) is currently looking for a Data and Communications Assistant to help facilitate their various programs, publications, outreach, and events. CES maintains an intense programming cycle which includes an annual international conference, multiple fellowship and prize competitions, and several publications. The Data and Communications Assistant will be asked to perform tasks related to these programs, including:
Data Management:
Manage and update CES databases, including mailing lists, sponsors and opportunities
Compile and verify fellowship and grant applications
Research and compile jobs and opportunities for CES newsletters and database
Update marketing and editorial contacts for UK and US publishers
Research and compile a list of possible new sponsors, grants and advertisers
Assist with conference scheduling and data management 
Assist with additional tasks
Maintain Google AdWords campaigns and keywords, and create new ones as needed
Track Google Analytics for EuropeNow online journal
Find and pre-schedule Europe-related social media posts 
Draft and schedule e-blasts and newsletters
The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with strong organizational, writing, and research skills, as well as a keen attention to detail. Candidates must be comfortable working with common office technology and software, and should be able to work independently on a wide range of projects.  We are a small office, so flexibility, reliability and a positive attitude are essential.  
Hours and Remuneration:
Preference will be given to candidates who can commit to working at CES for at least a year for 10-15 hours per week for a salary of $15 per hour.  Undergraduate and graduate students affiliated with Columbia University or Columbia Teacher’s College are encouraged to apply, but candidates do not need to be students in order to apply. This is not a work study position.
