Call for Nominations: CES Executive Committee Members

The Council for European Studies (CES) invites nominations for new members of its Executive Committee. We will hold an election in November 2026.

The Executive Committee plays an important role in the governance and strategic direction of CES, working closely with the Executive Director, CES staff, and CES chair to strengthen the organization, support its programs, and advance its mission of promoting interdisciplinary scholarship and engagement in European Studies.

We welcome nominations of scholars and professionals who are committed to the field of European Studies and interested in contributing to the future of CES. We particularly encourage nominations that reflect the breadth of our membership across disciplines, geographic areas, career stages, and institutions.

Executive Committee members serve four-year terms and contribute to discussions about CES’s strategic priorities, programs, membership, annual International Conference of Europeanists, awards and grants, partnerships, and organizational development. Members are expected to participate in a minimum of two Executive Committee meetings each year, including one in-person meeting held during the annual International Conference of Europeanists, and to serve actively on Executive Committee subcommittees. Executive Committee members must be CES members in good standing.

CES members are invited to nominate colleagues or to put themselves forward for consideration. Self-nominations are welcome.

Nominations should be submitted by November 1, 2026 via the nomination form.

Serving on the Executive Committee is an opportunity to help shape the next chapter of CES, contribute to the organization’s strategic priorities, and support a vibrant international community of scholars and practitioners working on Europe. We encourage members from across the CES community to consider running for the Executive Committee.
